Cala Llonga

Cala Llonga is located in a beautiful bay surrounded by rocky cliffs. The main attraction of the resort is its fine sandy beach which is very child friendly making Cala Llonga a popular destination for family holidays. The beach is very wide, deep and sandy and is cleaned everyday during the busy times. The sea water is clear and kept clean. The community of Cala Llonga are proud of their ‘Blue Flag’ status and work hard to keep the beach up to standard. Fresh water showers are situated at the back of the beach. The beach slopes very gently down into the sea and beyond creating safe and shallow swimming for children and non swimmers.

Under the pine trees, protected from the sun, is a popular play area for children with safe slides, sea-saws etc.

Cala Llonga has all the amenities expected of a self-sufficient resort, such as restaurants, bars, internet cafés, supermarkets, a chemist, plenty of parking spaces and beach bars serving a range of Spanish and international food. There is even an occasional funfair during the summer months.

More so than many other beaches in Ibiza, Cala Llonga has excellent facilities for a range of activities. Ibiza's only golf course (Golf de Ibiza) is just a little way down the road (in the direction of the village of Jesus), and boasts a fairly challenging 18-hole course that stays open until 7pm. The price for a round of golf includes lunch, so for golf fans the course is well worth a visit. Cala Llonga has good facilities for horse riding as well, and offers hour-long lessons, treks to beaches, day-long treks into the surrounding countryside, and even night treks. Surrounding Cala Llonga are tracks perfect for cycling, jogging, trekking and interesting walking routes for the ramblers, going through pine forests and along cliff tops with some spectacular scenery.

Public transport has improved greatly over the last few years and now you can easily get a bus or ferry, during most of the day, to St. Eulalia or Ibiza Town and from there to anywhere on the Island. For those wanting night life, you can take the last bus out of Cala Llonga to Ibiza and then for the return there are buses all night long from the clubs, Ibiza or San Antonio to St Eulalia, but then it has to be a taxi to Cala Llonga.
